Day to Day Care

As the glazed surface is extremely smooth and non-porous, cleaning with soapy water is usually all that is required to keep your sink clean.

More stubborn stains can be removed using a sensitive acid free cleaner. Always wipe down with a dry towel or microfibre cloth after use, this will help to avoid any lime scale build-up or staining.

Cleaning

Always use a soft cloth. The use of coarse grit, scouring powders or soap filled wire wool cleaning pads is not recommended, both will mark the ceramic surface. Wire wool pads leave tiny fragments of wire embedded in the surface and cause permanent scratching. Vigorous rubbing with a soft cloth and neat detergent will remove these stains. Always remove wet cleaning aids (cloth, containers etc) from the surface after use in order to avoid the formation of water marks.

Caution

Avoid using plastic washing-up bowls, as particles
of grit can get into the base of the bowl and act like sandpaper, causing permanent scratching to
the glazed surface.

  1. Bleaches & Acids:
The ceramic surface will not be affected by bleach or acids found in the kitchen; however, it is advisable to use only diluted bleach in or on the sink, this is because the chrome wastes and taps can be damaged by extended exposure to neat bleach.
  2. Stains:
If stains become particularly difficult to remove, an overnight soak using a biological washing powder should help remove any marks.
  3. Limescale:
In hard water areas limescale can build-up on the surface and become visible when stained by food and drink. We recommend regular cleaning with a solution of 3-parts hot water and 1-part white vinegar or specific limescale cleaners can be used. 4. Metal Marks:
Pans and cutlery can leave grey metal marks on the surface as the glazed finish is much harder than the metal utensils used in the kitchen. These marks can be easily removed using our recommended Cramer-Bath and Kitchen Rubber.
  4. Heat Resistance:
Ceramic sinks are highly heat resistant and can withstand the residual heat from pots and pans taken directly from the oven or hob.

Installation

It is a requirement that all undermounted sinks be installed by a professional or qualified benchtop manufacturer. Failure to do this will void the warranty. All templates are supplied only as a guide. The physical use of the sink will ensure a more accurate cut-out. For information on installation instructions for solid surface, granite, marble, stone or engineered countertop surfaces, contact your fabricator or benchtop manufacturer.
